His works have come to life with "Shades of Poe," a production at the Collings-Knight House in Collingswood through Sunday, where the audience is taken on a tour of the historical house while watching performances of Poe's works.

State extends hours for swine-flu calls

A state-run swine-flu hotline has extended its hours, officials said Wednesday.

The hotline -- (866) 321-9571 -- now will take calls daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the state Department of Health and Senior Services. The call center, which was launched earlier this month, previously did not operate on weekends.

Operators will offer general information about H1N1 flu, vaccine safety and availability, H1N1 symptoms and preventive measures.

Officials said flu activity in New Jersey has moved "from regional to widespread." This means H1N1 is present in a majority of counties.

Hump Day Special: The spaghetti and meatball dessert at IndeBlue

The spaghetti and meatballs dessert at Indie Blue

The spaghetti and meatballs dessert at Indie Blue

Having the mid-week blues? The one thing I've found that will cheer you up, without fail: the spaghetti and meatball dessert on the menu at IndeBlue.

Say wha? Spaghetti and meatballs for dessert? At an Indian restaurant?

I kid you not.

Here's how they do it: First, the meatballs are actually gulab jamun — the munchkin-like balls doused in syrup. But the spaghetti is really out there. They stick a few giant scoops of vanilla ice cream into a pasta press and crank out strands of melty pasta. You've got approximately 2 minutes to down the whole dish before it becomes a puddle of creamy, gooey weirdness, but if you can eat fast, this may be one of the most creative and delicious desserts you'll ever try.
