Hip Hop NUTCRACKA’ brings Audience to their Feet!

Riding through a glowing wintry forest!

- Burgeoning Pop Star, Jordan Shannon leaps for the Stars, as the Suga' Plum Fairy!
Saturday, December 26th, the rescheduled production of The NUTCRACKA' ~ A modern twist on a classic story, presented by REMIX Theater, received Standing Ovation!
Here's is what a Collingswood resident had to say:
"FIVE STARS OUT OF FIVE ***** Two Thumbs up!
Took my girls to see The Nutcracka last night at the Scottish Rite Theater and I stand amazed at the talent that was in that place! This cast was AWESOME! Way cool! Amazing talent! EXCEPTIONAL! The choreography was fantastic! The show moved at a great pace so you were not bored in the least bit!!!!The dances were exciting and energetic and put a fresh modern spin on The Nutcracker. Some of my favorites were the opening scene after intermission with The Nutracka dancing and then Clara joining him. The Nutcracka was intense and totally in his zone! The Mid nightmare and battle scene was soooooo good! The song and dance to Insomnia was fantastic! Then no doubt what brought the audience to their feet was when, world renown artists, Karen Callaway (Lincoln Center and Riverdance), Omar Edwards (broadway star) and Maurice Chestnut (Carnegie Hall) performed an absolute tear the roof off, bring the walls down, tap dance. Man oh man, the adrenaline and excitement that was released during that was way cool! I stood up giving a standing O and my daughters were trying to get me back in my seatThese three (Omar, Karen and Maurice) are so gifted and raised the bar for the others and they met it! Another highlight was Jordan Shannon as the Suga Plum Fairy. She lit up the stage with her talent and personality! I could go on an on but I honestly have to tell you to sign up for their mailing list so you don't miss another show. To have so much talent literally in my backyard (theater in Collingswood) was such a gift! Fred Vasallo and his wife Dominque are the Directors of Remix Theater and they offer dance lessons of many forms (ballet, hip hop, theather, etc.) and they are auditioning for Alice in Wunda'land in January. They have RAVE reviews from many media sources and now I know why, firsthand."
If you would like to audition for Alice in Wunda'land auditions take place January 3rd, 4th and 8th. For more information, call (856) 313-2093 or visit www.remixtheater.com.
