Fashionable canines

CollingwoodDogDays

Dogs in heat are fashionable once again in Collingswood. At least they are Saturday (Aug. 16) as Powell Lane (off Haddon Ave. by the LumberYard) hosts the Second Annual Dog Days of Summer from noon to 3 p.m. There will be a Pooch Parade for your favorite costumed canines, vendors selling the latest doggie accessories, booths for pet portraits and more. Admission is free, but there's a $5 fee for the Pooch Parade and contest. Contest categories include most creative, most comical and best of show, and a portion of the proceeds benefit animal causes. For more information, call (856) 858-9275 or visit www.collingswood.com.

Nunzio’s In the Running for Top Chef

blueberriesNunzio's has advanced to the second round of South Jersey Magazine's Top Chef Contest.

The Haddon Avenue restaurant gathered enough votes in June to move forward in the contest by featuring a dish with blueberries.

Restaurants receiving the most online votes on the magazine's website are invited to the next round until the final two chefs compete for the title of South Jersey Magazine's Top Chef.

In support of our local Jersey produce, South Jersey restaurants feature a dish and recipe showcasing the Jersey ingredient of the month – you can try the dish at Nunzio's or tackle the dessert yourself with the recipe available on the restaurant's website.
