Description: The Collingswood Shakespeare Company will will host a discussion on Hamlet from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Collingswood Public Library. Director/playwright Gerald van Wilgen will moderate the discussion. The group's monthly discussions are free, and light refreshments will be served. For further information, contact R. Annual festival to tout books and joy of reading

Nearly a decade ago, Jean Brennan walked by a small book festival in New York City and thought it would be a nice idea to try in Collingswood.

Now it's been seven years, and the Collingswood Book Festival has brought thousands of literature lovers to the small community to meet authors, browse used books, have their books appraised and inspire a passion for reading in their children.

"It really is a family affair. The entire family can come, and they spend the whole day there," said Brennan. "What warmed my heart last year as I walked down the street was seeing parents sitting there reading books to their children. It's just such a wonderful feeling to see that."

Community Garden Meeting

Description: Community Gardens meeting. Master Gardener John Wiberg of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Camden County will give a talk on vegetable gardening which will be followed by a question/answer session. Also get an update on the development existing open spaces into community gardens.

The Community Garden club is a new venture in Collingswood that will focus on the development of borough open space into community gardens.
